Purpose of U.I.M.I.

The purpose of Until I Make It is to be a support system to those who want to succeed, but lack the resources. The strategies that will serve the community will have a positive influence on their mentality, and sense of purpose in this world. It can be very difficult to achieve goals when no one is supporting you or has the resources for you to achieve. This company will benefit those who face disadvantages and will hopefully inspire others to do the same. When there are evident problems in society people should become the solutions by developing systems to help the problem be solved which is what this programs initiative demonstrates.

Economic Disparities of the Youth

Students from low-income neighborhoods often grapple with challenges beyond academics, notably the impact of community violence and crime. This unsettling environment can deeply affect their mental health, manifesting as anxiety, stress, and trauma, which, in turn, impair learning abilities like memory, and motive to achieve academically. Such conditions can lead to frequent school absences, further diminishing academic success. Essentially, the pervasive violence in these areas creates a learning environment where survival concerns overshadow educational pursuits. This highlights the critical need for comprehensive support strategies that focus on the educational, emotional, and physical well-being of students facing these adversities.

Challenges of Employment for the Incarcerated Individual

Formally incarcerated individuals face significant employment challenges upon reentry into society, including widespread stigma, legal restrictions on certain jobs, and gaps in their resumes. These barriers often lead to high rates of unemployment and underemployment in this population, further complicating their reintegration process and increasing the likelihood of recidivism. Employers' hesitancy, driven by perceived risks, exacerbates the difficulty in securing stable, quality employment, underscoring the need for targeted support and policy reforms to facilitate successful workforce reentry for these individuals.

College Students Challenges

College students lacking resources face considerable struggles in transitioning to professional adulthood after graduation. The absence of financial support, professional networks, and access to career development opportunities can leave them at a significant disadvantage compared to their more privileged peers. This disparity may manifest in prolonged job searches, underemployment, or employment in fields unrelated to their studies. Furthermore, the lack of mentorship and guidance in navigating the professional landscape can hinder their ability to effectively market their skills and achieve career advancement. These challenges underscore the importance of comprehensive support systems within educational institutions to prepare all students for successful post-graduation careers, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
